Defamation
Underwritten by the Valley Community Legal Foundation of the SFVBA, the nationally-acclaimed play Defamation was staged on February 13 for law magnet students at several San Fernando Valley schools.
2017 MCLE Marathon
SFVBA members had the opportunity to fulfill their continuing legal education requirements during a two-day Marathon, January 13 and 14. Topics covered included estate planning, leveraging technology to maximize efficiency, and partnership agreements.
2016 Holiday Open House
The Bar celebrated the season with a Holiday Open House on December 13 at its Tarzana headquarters. The evening included a display of toys collected by members for needy children at several homeless shelters in the Valley.
Blanket the Homeless
In December 2016, the SFVBA helped “Blanket the Homeless” by distributing blankets to several Valley homeless shelters. Volunteer attorneys were also on hand to provide free legal assistance to the needy.
State Bar Diversity Award
The SFVBA was recognized by the State Bar of California with its 2016 Diversity Award for its “outstanding efforts and significant contributions” to ensure full and equal opportunity for all persons considering a career in the legal profession.
2016 SFVBA Installation Dinner
On September 22, 2016, several hundred guests met at the Skirball Center in Los Angeles to celebrate the installation of the SFVBA’s new President, attorney Kira Masteller, Bar officers and members of the Board of Trustees.
