Family Law Judicial Assignment Changes / Torrance Courthouse

Changes at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse
Effective Jan. 2, 2025, the Family Law Division will implement the following change to courtroom operations at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse, located at 111 N. Hill St., Los Angeles:

• Judge Nicole C. Bershon will be assigned to Department 2C at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse. All matters previously assigned to Department 2C will be assigned to Judge Bershon for all purposes, unless otherwise notified.

All matters currently calendared shall remain scheduled on the dates and times previously set, unless otherwise notified. Counsel and parties are instructed to indicate the assigned judicial officer and department on the first page of all documents filed with the clerk to ensure proper departmental assignment, calendaring of hearings and document routing.

Changes at the Compton Courthouse
Effective Jan. 7, the Family Law Division will implement the following change to courtroom operations at the Compton Courthouse, located at 200 W. Compton Blvd., Compton:

• Judge Maria Puente-Porras will be assigned to Department N at the Compton Courthouse. All matters previously assigned to Department N will be assigned to Judge Puente-Porras for all purposes, unless otherwise notified.

All matters currently calendared shall remain scheduled on the dates and times previously set, unless otherwise notified. Counsel and parties are instructed to indicate the assigned judicial officer and department on the first page of all documents filed with the clerk to ensure proper departmental assignment, calendaring of hearings and document routing.

Changes at the Torrance Courthouse
Effective Jan. 8, the Family Law Division will implement the following change to courtroom operations at the Torrance Courthouse, located at 825 Maple Ave., Torrance:

All matters previously assigned to Department H at the Torrance Courthouse will be assigned to Judge Timothy M. Weiner in Department L for all purposes, unless otherwise notified.
