Effective July 14, 2025, the Superior Court of Los Angeles County will transition remote appearances in Juvenile Dependency courtrooms from Webex to Microsoft Teams.
This transition will streamline access by providing a single, non-expiring Microsoft Teams link for each courtroom, allowing users to access necessary resources with ease. Participants will be able to join directly without the need for pre-check-in.
Using Microsoft Teams
Until the transition date on July 14, attorneys and litigants appearing remotely for Juvenile Dependency hearings will continue to receive Webex links from the courtroom for remote access. On and after July 14, each participating courtroom will provide a Microsoft Teams link in place of the previous link. The Microsoft Teams link is included on the notice of hearing and is also provided by the parties’ attorney.
Microsoft Teams features industry-leading stability and ease of use, including browser-based access, calendar integration, and virtual lobby functionality. Most users will be able to join without needing to download additional software. For the best experience, participants should ensure their devices are up to date and compatible with Microsoft Teams.
The Court’s remote appearance platform promotes convenience and choice, offering audio and video remote appearance options that eliminate the need for driving, parking and childcare costs while saving time on commutes to courthouses.
This update is part of the Court’s broader effort to enhance consistency and ease of access for remote appearances.
