The California Supreme Court has approved a revised application form for use by attorneys seeking appointment by the court to represent indigent defendants in capital appeals, as well as a new, shorter application form for use by attorneys who seek an additional appointment. The shorter application form is intended to streamline and expedite the process of appointment for attorneys already appointed by the court in a prior capital appeal.
Both approved forms, the Application for First Appointment to Capital Appeal and the Application for Appointment to Additional Capital Appeal, are posted on the court’s website and are available for immediate use.
