From Sept. 18 to Oct. 27, 2025, the Superior Court of Los Angeles County will invite public comment on proposed amendments to the Local Rules. A list of the affected rules is provided below:
· Rule 2.11 Assignment of Matters – Family Law Division
Amend rule to include additional matters assigned to the Family Law Division and reflect current practices.
· Rule 2.17 Photographing, Recording, or Broadcasting in Court
Amend rule to reflect current practices for photographing, recording and broadcasting.
· Rule 2.29 Security Screening and Restrictions on Weapons
Propose a new rule incorporating existing general order restrictions on weapons.
· Rule 5.4 Family Law Division Related Cases
Amend rule to update the criteria for relating family law cases.
· Rule 5.5 Transfer of Related Family Law Cases
Amend rule to clarify transfer procedures for related family law cases and include exceptions for dismissed cases, pre-transfer actions and related case requests.
· Rule 5.6 Electronic Filing
Amend rule to update electronic filing requirements for the California Department of Child Support Services, the Los Angeles County Child Support Services Department and any other local child support agency.
· Rule 5.24 Matters Involving Title IV-D of the Social Security Act
Amend rule to clarify Title IV-D courtroom assignments, filing procedures and matters constituting or involving exceptional circumstances.
· Universal Amendments to Local Rules — Website Domains and Los Angeles Superior Court References
Amend the following rules to update all references to the former domains (www.lacourt.org and www.lasuperiorcourt.org), their subpages and email addresses to the new site, www.LACourt.ca.gov, and domain: Rules 2.3, 3.4, 3.5, 4.3, 4.4, 4.5, 4.7, 4.12, 4.138, 5.2, 5.6, 5.19, 6.1, 6.2, 7.1, 7.33, 7.34, 9.2, 9.8, 9.12.
Amend the following rules to update all references to “Los Angeles Superior Court” with “Superior Court of Los Angeles County”: Rules 2.1, 3.3, 3.4, 4.138, 5.20, 5.26, 8.42, 9.2.

The public may comment through Monday, Oct. 27, 2025.
