Kira is a volunteer settlement officer for the Los Angeles Superior Court Probate Department Settlement Program, and is a past President of the San Fernando Valley Bar Association (2017), Valley Community Legal Foundation, she founded the women’s networking group “Women In Network” (WIN) in 2008 and is a past Chair of the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Trust & Estates Executive Committee.

Kira volunteered for the Sojourn Battered Women’s Shelter for more than 17 years providing no cost legal assistance to victims of domestic violence.

Kira enjoys mentoring new attorneys, working with students and presenting MCLE programs. Outside of work, Kira’s favorite activity is to play with her grandchildren (ages 21 months – 5 years). When not playing with grandchildren, Kira spends her time with her husband, hiking with their two dogs, a black lab and a golden retriever. Spring, summer and fall also include paddle boarding, kayaking and water skiing, while winter is spent on snow hikes and snowboarding. Kira also loves to read and garden and sings with her church choir. Kira has recently written a children’s book and a few songs. Learning how to play golf is Kira’s next goal.

Favorite vacation is: Visiting Kira’s cousins and aunt in France (Paris and Lyon) with Lourdes being an extra special favorite. Visiting her husband’s family in Iowa is almost a tie (but the food in France wins).
