LASC Begins Multi-Phased Rollout of Electronic Filing in the Criminal and Juvenile Justice Divisions

First Phase Begins with Los Angeles County Probation Department Reports 

Beginning Feb. 13, the Superior Court of Los Angeles County will begin a multi-phased launch of electronic filing (efiling) in the Criminal and Juvenile Justice Divisions, starting with the Los Angeles County Probation Department (Probation Department). The Probation Department will have the ability to electronically file Court-ordered probation reports with the Court, streamlining communication and enhancing the Court’sability to maintain complete and easily accessible records.

The efiling process is intended to be simple and streamlined. It will allow the Probation Department to automatically submit probation reports and related case information electronically, eliminating the need for manual scanning and data entry. This new workflow is expected to reduce manual document handling and improve overall efficiency for court and probation staff. Efiling also provides efficiencies and enhances the Court’s ability to maintain complete and easily accessible records.

This launch marks the first phase of a broader, multi-phase initiative to expand efiling in criminal and juvenile justice cases and bring all justice partners onto a unified electronic filing platform within the Court’s Criminal and Juvenile Divisions. Additional justice partners are expected to be onboarded to efiling in the coming months as the Court continues to modernize its filing systems and streamline case processing.
