Bench Bar Updates

Effective May 1, Emails from the Court Will Come From @lacourt.ca.gov

Effective May 1, the Superior Court of Los Angeles County will transition its primary email domain from @lacourt.org to @lacourt.ca.gov. This transition better aligns the Court’s email addresses with its new website domain, www.lacourt.ca.gov, which launched July 1, 2025.

Both the @lacourt.org and @lacourt.ca.gov domains will remain active, and emails will be delivered if either domain is used. However, the Court strongly recommends that justice partners and members of the public update their contacts and systems accordingly to reflect the Court’s primary @lacourt.ca.gov domain going forward as the @lacourt.org may be discontinued in the future.

Important Information for External Partners

Justice partners and court users are encouraged to revise their internal email rules to reflect the Court’s new @lacourt.ca.gov email domain. Any email rules, filters, or automated processes currently set for @lacourt.org will not automatically apply to @lacourt.ca.gov.

To avoid disruption, the Court recommends that agencies and justice partners:

  • Update their internal systems to add @lacourt.ca.gov to approved sender lists.
  • Notify internal teams of the Court’s email domain change.
  • Add the new @lacourt.ca.gov email domain to allow-lists to prevent email delivery issues for emails going forward.

This change is part of the Court’s ongoing efforts to enhance security, align with statewide government standards and ensure consistency between the Court’s official website domain and email domain. In accordance with the Court’s 2025-2028 Strategic Plan, this transition also reaffirms the Court’s commitment to developing a sustainable, resilient and secure technological infrastructure.
