Beginning March 17, the Court will implement mandatory electronic filing (efiling) for attorneys representing parties in child support cases enforced by the Department of Child Support Services (DCSS) or the Local Child Support Agency (LCSA).

The Superior Court of Los Angeles County will expand its Digital Evidence System to 10 remaining Small Claims courthouses beginning Monday, March 3, following a successful pilot that launched in select courtrooms last September.

The Sylmar Juvenile Courthouse, located at 16350 Filbert St., Sylmar, will open at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2025, due to a scheduled power outage for required utility maintenance by the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power impacting the immediate neighborhood.

Starting March 3, 2025, the Superior Court of Los Angeles County will use electronic service (eService) to transmit, deliver, or serve required case documents in Juvenile Dependency cases.

Judge Michelle Short will be assigned to Department F50. All matters previously assigned to Department F50 will be assigned to Judge Short for all purposes, unless otherwise notified.

Judge Stephanie Story will be assigned to Department 88. All matters previously assigned to Department 88 will be assigned to Judge Story for all purposes, unless otherwise notified.
Judge Firdaus Dordi will be assigned to Department 24. Department 24 will open as a split General Family Law Home Court/Settlement Courtroom. Judge Dordi will handle all cases that will be randomly assigned and/or reassigned to Department 24 for all purposes.
