September 16, 2019 – In an election highlighted by a record number of ballots cast and active social media campaigning, attorney Barry P. Goldberg has been elected President of the San Fernando Valley Bar Association.
A personal injury attorney based in Woodland Hills, Goldberg will serve a one-year term at the 2,000-plus member professional group. A San Fernando Valley native and graduate of Loyola Law School, he was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1984, joined the Bar Association in 2007 and has served as a Trustee, and later Officer, since 2013.

Along with providing our membership with programs critical to their financial growth, this year we are also committed to our community by fighting against homelessness in our beloved Valley”
Elected to serve with Goldberg as Officers of the Executive Committee will be attorneys David G. Jones (President Elect), Christopher P. Warne (Secretary), Matthew A. Breddan (Treasurer); and, Yi Sun Kim will serve as Immediate Past President.
Attorneys Alan Eisner, Gary J. Goodstein, Alexander S. Kasendorf, Minyong Lee, Joy Kraft Miles, and George N. Seide were elected for a two-year Trustee term. Kyle M. Ellis and Michael L. Cohen were appointed by Goldberg for a one-year Trustee term.
They will join sitting Trustee attorneys Heather Glick-Atalla, Amanda M. Moghaddam, Samuel R.W. Price, Allan D. Sarver, Steven M. Sepassi, Benjamin E. Soffer and Santa Clarita Valley Bar Association representative Taylor F. Williams, all of whom will serve as Trustees through 2020.
In 2018, the SFVBA membership approved a Bylaw change to expand the SFVBA Board of Trustees from 20 to 21 members, as a result of adding a presidential one-year term appointment of an Associate Member Trustee.
Goldberg designated Ivette Fernandez, an Assistant Administrator at the Encino law firm of Nemecek & Cole, to serve on the Board as an appointed Associate Member Trustee, with full voting and attendance rights. If approved by the Board, she will be the first non-lawyer to serve on the Board as Associate Member Trustee.
