Los Angeles Superior Court Presiding Judge Kevin C. Brazile has issued a detailed and far-reaching order implementing operational changes at all County courthouses that “will allow us to comply with social distancing and to prevent the spread of the virus within our community.”
The courts, he said, will reopen Friday only for emergency and essential matters to protect the most vulnerable in our communities, adding that the order goes into effect immediately, will remain in effect until April 16 “and may be amended as circumstances require.”
The implementation order is being issued pursuant to the emergency powers granted to him yesterday by California Supreme Court Chief Justice Tani G. Cantil-Sakauye under Government Code Section 68115.
