Chronic homelessness has become a visible crisis in America, specifically in California, and most notably here in the Valley over the past several years.
Stepping into the breach, the Valley Community Legal Foundation, the community service arm of SFVBA, has, since December 1995, delivered more than 40,000 blankets to homeless and battered women’s shelters located throughout the San Fernando Valley.
On Saturday, December 14, volunteer Bar members assisted with the distribution of blankets to representatives from several shelters to demonstrate the Bar’s commitment to raising sufficient the funds needed to provide enough blankets to meet every shelter’s need.
Marking another annual tradition, a few days previous, several hundred toys were collected by Bar members and their guests attending the annual SFVBA Holiday Party for distribution to underprivileged and homeless children in the Valley.
