The SFVBA Nominating Committee is currently seeking attorney members who aspire to lead the San Fernando Valley Bar Association and wish to be considered for nomination as a candidate for its Board of Trustees.
Trustees’ responsibilities include setting policy and overseeing the association’s finances. Trustees also work closely with SFVBA staff to improve and develop programs for the public; expand benefits and services for members; promote the public image of lawyers and the justice system; and are active participants in SFVBA programs and committees.
After evaluating all applications, up to 12 candidates will be nominated by the SFVBA Nominating Committee. Of those nominated, six will be elected for two-year terms to fill the open trustee seats on the Board. The President may appoint a Trustee from the Associate (non-attorney) membership, who would have full voting rights on Board matters.
The Board of Trustees Election commences the second week of August and culminates with Election Day on Tuesday, September 10, 2019.
