September 3, 2019 – The Family Law Division has announced several changes to courtroom operations at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse in downtown Los Angeles.
Effective August 27, 2019, Judge Lawrence Riff was reassigned from Department 77 to Department 2, as the new Supervising Judge of the Family Law Division; Judge Thomas Trent Lewis was reassigned from Department 2 to Department 8; and Judge Shelley Kaufman, currently assigned to Department 60, became the new Assistant Supervising Judge of the Family Law Division.
Effective September 3, 2019, Judge Timothy M. Weiner will be reassigned from Department 48 at the Foltz Criminal Justice Center to Department 8 at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse.
Effective November 19, 2019, Judge Shelley Kaufman will be reassigned from Department 60 to Department 18; Judge Joshua Wayser will be reassigned from Department 27 to Department 60; and Judge Timothy M. Weiner will be reassigned from Department 8 to Department 27.
Counsel and parties are instructed to identify the assigned judicial officer and department on the first page of all documents filed with the clerk, beneath the case number, to ensure proper departmental assignment, calendaring of hearings, and the distribution of documents.
