Attorney David G. Jones has been elected President of the San Fernando Valley Bar Association.
An employment law litigator with the firm of Lewitt Hackman in Sherman Oaks, California, Jones will serve a one-year term at the helm of the 2,000-plus member, 94-year old Bar.
A Southern California native, he is a graduate of Loyola Marymount University, a 1996 cum laude graduate of Whitter Law School. He is admitted to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, as well as the Central, Eastern and Southern District Courts of California. Jones joined the SFVBA in 2000.
“I could not be more proud to take the helm of the Valley institution that is the San Fernando Valley Bar Association,” says Jones. “With nearly one hundred years of tradition and success in supporting the Valley legal community, the Bar has been built on amazing leadership over the decades, and I intend to honor that tradition. Assuming this important leadership role, he says “ is one of the highlights of my legal career and I will always cherish this opportunity. I look forward to leading the Bar through its current challenges and into a new and prosperous future.”
Elected to serve with Jones as Officers of the Executive Committee will be attorneys Christopher P. Warne (President-Elect); Matthew A. Breddan (Secretary); Heather Glick-Atalla (Treasurer); and Barry P. Goldberg, who will serve as Immediate Past President.
The President will appoint up to three additional Trustees, subject to the approval of the Board of Trustees. Two of those appointments would be vetted from the SFVBA’s Active Membership. The third appointment would be from the Bar’s Associate Membership.
They will join attorneys Alan Eisner, Gary J. Goodstein, Alexander S. Kasendorf, Minyong Lee, Joy Kraft Miles, George N. Seide, and Santa Clarita Valley Bar Association representative Taylor F. Williams, all of whom are serving as Trustees through 2021.
