As it does every year, last Christmas season, the San Fernando Valley Bar Association collected a huge assortment of toys to be distributed to Valley residents unable to provide holiday gifts for their children.
The gifts were distributed by the West Valley Food Pantry and the San Fernando Valley Chapter of the National Charity League, both of which extended their appreciation to the Bar for its generosity in a letter to the SFVBA Board of Trustees.
“Thanks to you and other supporters, we were able to provide gifts and holiday cheer to 637 children and their families,” they wrote.
“There were lots of smiles and gratitude from all! We are deeply appreciative of your commitment to improving the lives of the families we serve. Your participation helped to bring the spirit of warmth and caring to many. Gifts were brightly wrapped, and packages of delicious homemade cookies, baked by NCL/SFV Chapter moms and daughters, were tucked in too. While parents shopped inside, their children were entertained outdoors, with games, treats and a visit from Santa.”
