A burst pipe has forced the closure of the Van Nuys East courthouse at 6230 Sylmar Avenue. Flooding has impacted floors one through four and the basement. It is estimated that the courthouse will remain closed for several days.
Parties with matters on calendar at the Van Nuys East courthouse should report to the assigned courtroom listed below at the Van Nuys West courthouse at 14400 Erwin Street. (The Van Nuys West courthouse is located directly across the plaza from the Van Nuys East courthouse.) Relocations will be updated daily.
Attorneys with matters on calendar at the Van Nuys East courthouse should contact the courtroom first regarding the status of their appearances because not all case files have arrived at the new courtrooms. The courtroom telephone numbers are the same (www.lacourt.org/courthouse/courtrooms/nw) and lines have been transferred to the West building.
