The members and staff of the San Fernando Valley Bar Association (SFVBA) extend their most sincere condolences to the family of attorney Marcia Kraft, who passed away Wednesday, February 13.
A longtime SFVBA member, former Trustee of the Board and former President of the Valley Community Legal Foundation (VCLF), she headed her own namesake law firm for years and was one of the few female attorneys at the time to head their own multi-associate law office.
In June 2018, she was honored with an award from the VCLF commending her for her “exemplary community service,” which included serving as an arbitrator for the Ventura County Superior Court; a mediator on probate and family law matters for Los Angeles County Superior Court; a member of the SFVBA’s Attorney Referral Service Committee Advisory Board; and as a Judge Pro Tem in both Small Claims and Traffic Courts.
She leaves behind a wonderful legacy for her attorney daughter, Joy Kraft Miles. No one was quite like Marcia. Her kind smile and generosity of spirit extended into every aspect of her life and will be greatly missed by all of us.
