The L. A. Superior Court’s Mental Health Department is seeking qualified applicants to serve on the Court-appointed Counsel Panel for Lanterman-Petris-Short (LPS) conservatorship proceedings.
Court-appointed counsel must satisfy the requirements of California Rules of Court, rules 7.1101(c) and 7.1103, and Local Court Rules 4.137 and 4.123 through 4.127, updated January 1, 2022.
Updated eligibility requirements and compensation rates apply. Effective April 1, 2022, the hourly rate for court-appointed counsel in Mental Health proceedings will increase to $150 per hour for services on or after April 1.
