Effective October 5, 2020, the LASC will implement mandatory efiling for all non-adoption documents filed by litigants and/or agencies represented by attorneys in Juvenile Dependency.
Per the First Amended General Order issued on August 19:
- The Department of Children and Family Services is required to electronically file documents with the Court, either through an approved Electronic Filing Service Provider (EFSP) or by acting as an approved EFSP.
- Represented litigants and agencies are required to efile documents through an approved EFSP.
- Documents must be efiled as a PDF, must be text searchable and must include bookmarks.
- Any document received electronically before midnight on a court day is deemed to have been effectively filed on that court day, if accepted. Any document electronically received after midnight is deemed to have been effectively filed on the next court date.
