Effective Monday, May 17, four Unlawful Detainer (UD) courtrooms in the Stanley Mosk Courthouse will be designated as direct calendar UD courtrooms.
Currently, there are two existing calendar/law and motion UD courtrooms and two UD trial courtrooms. Beginning Monday, Limited Jurisdiction UD cases will be assigned randomly to each of the four UD direct calendar courtrooms.
By this reorganization, the Court “hopes to improve management of cases, including having one judge assigned from start to finish, and thereby provide greater efficiency and predictability for litigants.”
