New LASC Mandatory Vaccination Policy
August 10, 2021 – All LASC court employees must be vaccinated as a condition of employment no later than 45 days after the FDA gives final approval to at least one COVID-19 vaccine.
LASC Civil Division to Implement Changes
August 8- 2021 – The LASC is planning a series of changes it will make in its Civil Division over the next 60 days “to provide more timely access to justice.”

Certain Trials and Hearings Relief Extended
August 3, 2021 – The relief for Los Angeles County criminal trials and juvenile dependency hearings has been extended to August 13, according to the LASC.
New COVID-19 Courthouse Protocols
August 2, 2021 – Effective immediately, attorneys, justice partners and the public are mandated to wear masks and “vigilantly follow” COVID-19 protocols at all County courthouses.
Advance Notice on Probate Calendar Sessions
July 27, 2021 – The LASC Probate Division has issued advance notice that it will amend the courtroom calendar sessions for probate matters, effective January 2022.
New Civil Division Courtroom Measures Outlined
July 26, 2021 – Effective immediately, LASC Civil Division judges may modify the ways juries are selected and allow jurors to sit throughout the courtroom rather than only in the jury box.
Deadlines for Some Cases Extended by Two Weeks
July 19, 2021 – The L. A. Superior Court has announced a 2-week extension of deadlines for certain criminal cases and a 4-week extension for juvenile dependency proceedings
CJC Courtrooms Return to Regular Hours
July 12, 2021 – Effective today, all courtrooms at the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center in downtown L. A. will operate from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with some exceptions.
Virtual MSC for Specific PI Cases Detailed
June 30, 2021 – The LASC has ordered select PI cases to a virtual Mandatory Settlement Conference (MSC) for those heard in several Departments at the downtown Spring Street Courthouse.
