The L. A. Superior Court’s cost-recovery fee for LACourtConnect (LACC) video remote appearances has been reduced due to recent changes in its video and audio platform.
Effective July 1, 2021, the cost-recovery fee for LACC video appearances will be reduced from $23 to $15, matching the $15 cost-recovery fee for audio appearances. LACC continues to be free for litigants with fee waivers.
Providing services at the lowest possible cost, the Court said, “will encourage remote participation across a wide spectrum of court users, especially among vulnerable populations.”
The LASC recently transitioned 250 LACC-equipped courtrooms to the Microsoft Teams platform for improved remote video and audio appearances in Civil, Family Law, Probate, Small Claims, and some Traffic matters.
